GOLF IS COMING SOON!!
We are in the middle of March, and it's time to go, hang in there, we will be teeing it up soon!

Monday March 8th

First off, a HUGE, deserved congratulations to good guy Jeff Bridges, who won his first Oscar last night, for his leading role in Crazy Heart. No, it wasn't the Big Lebowski, but after a lifetime of strikeouts, the Academy finally gave the good guy his due, and it was well deserved, for a family man, married for 33 years, with 3 kids, a rarity in the public life. It was a good show, though we could have done without Barbara Striesand, Shaun Penn, and several other liberal Hollywood morons. A big congrats to Kathryn Bigelow who promptly thanked the troops that are fighting for the cause, and prayed for their safe return back to the states. Hear that Barbara? Hey Penn, they are fighting for our cause, not against us. Idiot. Ok, I won't dwell on that, but to say that I did enjoy the show, because I love movies, and music, and this is America, and we are allowed to voice our opinions. So I won't hold it against those that are stupid. On to golf, and how about Camilo Villegas, who destroyed the field at PGA National, a course that I have played, and is just so difficult, and that is just part of the story, as the Nationwide Tour was being played in his native country of Columbia, and he left after last week's tourney to fly home to do a induction ceremony, then flew back to the states to play the very difficult PGA National course, and then to win by 5 shots? Amazing performance. And his brother was making his debut on the Nationwide Tour, Manuel Villegas, and he had an outstanding tourney, finishing tied for 15th. And forget that guy and his good golf genes, we had our own local legend, Ryan Aromour, who finished strong with a final round 68 to to finish tied for 20th in the Nationwide's Bogota Open. Seriously, the Bogota Open? What the crap, is the rough guarded by soldiers? Are the players stuffing their bags with cocoa leaves?  Ok, before I get in trouble, we will move on to the Monday edition of Chipp Shots. But first I must apologize for the lack of updates, as I was in San Diego last week playing in a Pro Am at the fantastic Barona Golf Course, which is the site of the Nationwide Tour Championship. Great Course, great facility, best in class for customer service, and get's my five star award for must go to golf vacation, except for one minor detail, and that will be discussed in the Monday edition of Chipp Shots.
